Jack Hunter O'Dell represents the universal character of poor and working people
around the globe. His lifelong dedication to effective organizing has left
thousands of persons changed and transformed for the better. His other-interested
leadership in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr.'s nonviolence army helped change the lives of rank and file warriors,
and other leaders while changing apartheid in the United States. Jack Hunter
O'Dell has combined a life of struggle that ties together civil rights, peace
and
disarmament work, human rights, economic justice, international solidarity
and environmental justice. All of his work carries the stamp of genuine humility,
honesty and courage. Jack Hunter O'Dell excels at active reflection and reflective
action.
