The ICL Circle of Roots Project maintains and harvests the Hope Garden.

Krisitn and Xochi thin carrots in the Hope Garden. Josh and Carla harvest carrots to freeze. Students were able to take home vegetables and others were frozen for future use. Students also participated in weekly ICL workshops to develop their leadership and advocacy skills.Students cultivate onions, green beans and sweet peas. The O'Dell Center, located in Kent, hosts regular nonviolence workshops, reflection circles and manual work projects.
The ICL Team begins harvesting beets. ICL students in Kent, Wa participate school year based programming at the O'Dell Center. This summer the students cared for the Hope Garden as a means of developing their capacity to lead.
First harvest of the season: onions, summer squash, and beets.
Lote presents a speech on cultural power at the O'Dell Center as Carla and Jan listen. Students participated in weekly nonviolence workshops as part of the Hope Garden Project.
