GRATITUDE for PEACE TOUR

Youth caravan from Oakland to Seattle
Thanking those who work for peace
August 6-19, 2007

Youth (12-18 years old) from Oakland's Martin L. King Jr. Freedom Center and Seattle's Institute for Community Leadership travel together for two weeks in August giving public events, poetry readings and thanking individuals and groups that work for peace.

The Freedom Center and the Institute will stop in large towns and cities as well as small villages. The youth are part of nonviolence leadership teams from both organizations which have worked in their respective cities for peace in our streets, in our families as well as putting an end to the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The GRATITUDE FOR PEACE TOUR is coordinated with the participation of Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-9th District) who will send the youth off from Oakland on Monday, August 6th.
